Evaluation
Now you have completed your CD Cover you need to you need to answer the following questions in as much detail as possible.
Student: But, sir, why do I need to write an evaluation when I've already finished my product?
Teacher: You need to evaluate any piece of work you create because there are very few things that are perfect, especially since this is your first piece of production. An evaluation has the added benefit of being able to look at your work and decided what you have done well and what you will need to improve on for next time.
TASK: Paste your album cover into a new word document and begin your evaluation. This is to be handed in as your assessment so please ensure this is completed the the highest standard.
- How effective was your research into similar CD covers? (Did you take the research seriously enough? Did you look at a wide range of existing examples?)
- What did you learn from your research? In what ways did this shape the creation of your CD cover? (Think about images, colour palettes, fonts).
- What creative decisions did you have to make at the different stages of your CD cover creation? How did your CD cover change as your work progressed? (What worked and didn't work?)
- How closely does your CD cover follow the forms and conventions of existing CD covers?
- Does it look real? (Why or why not?) What are its strengths and weaknesses?
