YouTube: Feature Article (Creation)

Creating your Feature Article

IMPORTANT: You should now have the following before you start:

1. Your plan for your feature article
2. An image of your topic/YouTuber (can be fictional but image must be confirmed by me before work can begin)
3. Copy/Text (in a word document) required. 

You then need to put all of this together on Photoshop.

TASK: In today's lesson (if you have not already) open Photoshop and select New. When the box opens ensure you have selected International Paper and A3. Set your page landscape (Image>Rotate Image> 90 degrees) to ensure it fits the Magazine Article double-page spread dimensions.

Select a background colour or insert your full page image onto the background (ensure it is a high quality image). Insert the requirements outlined above and make your feature article as presentable as it can be.

ADVICE:
- Make sure it looks professional
- Avoid empty space
- Make sure it is easy to read (we read left to right in Europe)
- Direct eye contact is more compelling
- Ensure you have an informative title and strapline.
- Think about the layout of your text, is it engaging?
- Remember your audience of 14-18 year olds.

Magazine Article Requirements

Your feature article will be a double page spread for a magazine aimed at 14-18 year olds about your fictional YouTuber. 

Your article must include the following:
- Masthead (title)

- An image

- Copy (text)

- Strapline (a line of text that intrigues the reader)

- Standfirst (A large letter than informs the audience where to begin reading from.
